RECURRENT MEASURES DELUXE (RMD) is a performance piece that evokes optimistic persistence as it oscillates between rhythmic meditation and queer joy. In response to "what does it take to survive the brutality of homophobia," RMD combines hypnotic circular motion and detailed flow with musical support by The Younger Lovers and original costumes by fashion designer Antonio Ortega. The cumulative actions, sound and costuming of RMD work towards progressively balancing the space, and viewers, across time between calm positivity and ecstatic invigoration. Robert Meilleur - Dancer Jason Cawood - Photo credits In a double program with Marie Béland (BESIDE) at 12:45 pm. Language of performance: English Open to all participants of the CINARS 2022 Biennial Number of seats (per performance): 30 Shuttle service included RMD can be performed as a duo or solo for 40 minutes. It is also possible to consider a 60-minute version and invite members of the local queer community to participate in the work. In this context, RMD will be presented as a 20-minute solo. A video of the duet version will also be available for viewing.
